Privacy Policy
This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information on the PMI China Project Management Congress 2026 registration website (the "Site").
Effective date: 【生效日期】
1. Information we collect
- Registration details: name, mobile number, email, city, industry, company, job title, how you heard about us, certification status, and any other fields you choose to complete.
- Invitation and eligibility data: invitation codes you submit, eligibility check results, and information needed for certification verification (such as certificate number and supporting images), collected only when relevant.
- Order and payment data: order ID, selected registration option and amount, payment status and transaction reference. Card numbers and payment credentials are handled by WeChat Pay; the Site does not collect or store them.
- Event participation data: check-in records, entry-code verification logs, and interview applications (only if you choose to apply).
- Technical and security data: request timestamps and IP address in server logs, used for rate limiting and security auditing.
2. How we use it
- Processing registrations and verifying invitation codes and discount eligibility;
- Creating orders and entry codes, confirming payment status, handling refunds and support;
- On-site check-in, entry verification and event safety;
- Sending transactional notices directly related to your registration;
- Record-keeping and auditing required by law.
We do not use your information for marketing unrelated to this congress. We will seek separate consent before sending you information about other events.
3. Storage location and retention
Your information is stored on cloud infrastructure located in mainland China (Tencent Cloud, Shanghai region). We retain it for 12 months after the congress ends, extended where required by law or where necessary for refunds, disputes or audits.
4. Sharing and processors
- We do not sell or rent your personal information and do not provide it to third parties for their own marketing.
- WeChat Pay processes payment data; Tencent Cloud provides hosting and storage. Both act as our processors.
- The organiser, co-organiser and necessary staff may access registration and check-in data only for event purposes and under confidentiality obligations.
- We may disclose necessary information where required by laws, courts or competent authorities.
5. Cookies and local storage
The Site does not use third-party advertising cookies. We use browser local storage to keep your registration progress and order record on the same device (valid for 7 days), plus referral information and necessary lookup tokens.
You may clear this data in your browser settings. Clearing local records does not cancel a submitted order. If you need your entry code again, use the recovery option with the mobile number, name and email used at registration.
6. Your rights
You may request access, correction or deletion of your information, or withdraw consent, by emailing chinaoffice@pmi.org with the mobile number used at registration. We respond within 15 business days. Deletion may affect registration and entry.
7. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS; administrative access is password-protected and restricted; lookup endpoints are rate-limited; and we collect only what is necessary. If a security incident may affect your rights, we will notify you as required by law.
8. Minors
This event is intended for professionals. Persons under 14 may not register on their own; a guardian must register on their behalf and agree to this policy.
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and its effective date, and highlight any material change at the registration entry point.
